Today, a recycle bin burnt to the ground. The red and blue recycle bin, located next to the big bin (near the canteen) was loaded with paper and melted in the flames. I didn't see the flames, but I'm sure the flames went well over one and a half metres. This is because the fire got up to the top of the fence of the stairway. The metal fence wasn't burnt, but it turned all black.

You could see white smoke and you could smell the bin burning from the other side of the school where I was before I decided to find out what was causing that terrible smell. At first, I thought it was the smell of someone burning a candle!

The bin was lit probably at the beginning of recess, or just before recess at the end of Period 2. You can still read parts of the burnt newspaper which was in the bin. The burnt stuff from the bin, which is now completely stuck on the ground, looks like dry goo.

New Blogging Software

As mentioned before, there was a cool blogging software called "Chrysanth Webstory." Emus and Cows have just discovered a new blogging software that is created by Windows Live (Microsoft). It is called Windows Live Writer. Windows Live Writer does not have as many functions as Chrysanth Webstory. For example, you can't put symbols and emoticons using Windows Live Writer. Chrysanth Webstory also has a sleeker, cooler design because it has trendy colours such as dark blue... basically Chrysanth Webstory looks similar to Microsoft Outlook 2003. Webstory even has Outbox and "Unsent Posts." Webstory has enhanced security. You can lock your "Chrysanth offline blogging account" with a password. Windows Live Writer doesn't have many features that Webstory has. Quite clearly, Webstory is better than Live Writer. To get Webstory, visit Chrysanth.com and for Live Writer, go to ideas.live.com and follow the links.

The publishers of Emus and Cows sincerely apologize for the mess in the article below.
GRRRR! I just received a Distinction for the Writing Competition. I scored 27 out of 37 which I don't think is a very good mark. If only I scored one or two marks more, I would of got a High Distinction. A girl with 29 marks got a high distinction.

Why does this kinda stuff always have to happen to me? I'm always a mark or two marks away from getting a better grade! Like two years ago in my Music Theory exam, I was one mark away from getting an A+, which also meant I would of also got another bonus certificate saying that you've achieved a high mark.

I hope I do better in future tests and exams. Well, I've got my Music Theory exam on the 23rd this month so I better get a mark over A or I'll kill myself!

IMAGES courtesy: NASA World Wind 1.35 & Google Earth 4

Yeah! I've now got Google Earth and World Wind on my computer. I just found out about NASA World Wind last week in Geography class! And by the way, they're both satellite imaging programs if you haven't yet realised.

They're both great! Google Earth is fast loading while World Wind takes ages to initialize. Google Earth is better for viewing the Earth because you are capable of viewing more countries. In Google Earth, the "address search" feature is only available in America whereas in NASA World Wind, you can search addresses in America and Australia which suits me 'cos I live in Aus.

As you all know, in Google Earth you search by typing in the name of the place in the left pane. To search a place in World Wind, you'll have to click on something and then a pop-up comes up asking what to search. That pop-up thing is annoying! In World Wind, they don't have that loading (%) feature unlike Google Earth.

In NASA World Wind, you can only view America clearly. In other countries when using World Wind, you can't zoom into streets unlike Google Earth. But, remember, using World Wind you can view other planets such as Venus, Jupiter, Mars and the moon (although the moon isn't a planet). NASA World Wind has colourful 3D graphics for planet Earth and has only got 2D imaging for other planets and the moon.

Download Google Earth here or click here to get World Wind.

I just don't get it. All the other schools have already received their computer skills results. How come we haven't got our results when it was the first test we did in the year and we have already got our English results which was our third test of the year??? It just doesn't make sense. I've asked the year adviser, office and roll call teacher and they don't seem to have a clue. Who are you supposed to ask in the school???
Yesterday (Wednesday 9th August) all people who travel to Eastwood were forced to go onto the 745 bus. A teacher from the sports department also happened to be at the bus lines. Let's just call him Mr B. Mr B checked everyone's bus passes and when he checked mine, he yelled something like "Go to the 745 line or you'll be in detention tomorrow!!!" You read that, you'll be threatened a detention if you're going to Eastwood and you don't go on the 745!!! I am completely outraged!!! Forcing somebody to go on a bus that gets to Eastwood last is obscene!!! 745 MY ARSE!!!
When I attempted to go onto the 743 bus again, Mr B yelled at me again!

The 745 is the bus that leaves last and gets to Eastwood last!!! I don't think the school has any right at all to force us to go onto a bus that we don't want to go onto! As long as I get home, I don't give the damn about what bus I catch!

Let's hope lining up in the bus lines is better today!
The other day (Wednesday) several other people and me were in trouble for so-called sending "spam emails." Somehow, the co-year adviser (who happens to work in the sport department) was involved. It is quite confusing. I do not understand what you're doing on the Internet has anything to do with teachers. It is quite annoying really.

Yesterday was the so-called "Ancient Day". It was so lame. We looked at a few graves in St. Annes and the most interesting one was the Granny Smith one. At lunch in the MPC, I had three pieces of chicken, two cups of cordial and a bit of salad. I am sort of annoyed I wan't the person who ate the most. And I'm the most annoyed that I wasn't the person who atethe most of theYr 7 Focus Day a fortnight ago!!! GRRR!!!

Our music project is due tommorow and I just started today... well sorta... We have to do four instruments and I've only done three. The music teacher never, ever told us we'd lose marks if we type it!!! Now, I've gotta hand write it.

Gotta go!

Why do we always have this free big breakfast on Tuesdays?!!! Today was once again the free morning breakfast held under A block. This is probably the fifth time this great breakfast has taken place.
